Lyke Chair 2013

The Lyke Chair draws its inspiration from the design typology of the typical folding metal chair. But, instead of folding, this chair is fixed. Instead of the metal, it is made of wood. Instead of the thin proportions of most metal folding chairs, this chair celebrates its chunkiness. When we like something, we are making a statement either about our preference for that object, or the similarity of that object to other objects. The Lyke chair is like many other chairs, and yet, it is unique.
